Montana-based Americana/folk singer-songwriter Martha Scanlan is set to release her fourth album, The River and The Light, on October 19, 2018 via Rock Ridge Music. Full of moments of profound intimacy and belonging, the album hosts some of the finest writing yet from the award-winning Scanlan. Produced by her longtime musical collaborator, Jon Neufeld, and recorded at Type Foundry Studios in Portland, Oregon (where Scanlan recorded her third album), The River and The Light is a journey: there is a sense of aliveness and wonder throughout each song and throughout the album, a sense of anticipation of what awaits around the next bend.

The Covellite Theatre is happy to welcome Storyhill, originally from Bozeman, to our stage on Thursday, November 29 for a special night of music.
Storyhill has scheduled their first tour in over three years in support of their new live album, Stages. Stages celebrates 16 live performances from the duo, recorded between 2002 and 2015.
Audiences can expect infectious melodies, smart story songs and heartbreaking harmonies brought together in one perfect package when they come to hear Storyhill. Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson grew up together in Bozeman and began playing music as a duo. Mixing old-fashioned storytelling with hauntingly spare acoustic arrangements, the duo sing about love, loss and hope and the many emotions that accompany them.

Montana-bred bluegrass outfit Kitchen Dwellers are captivating fans across the country with their high-energy live performances and unique approach to traditional music that fans have dubbed Galaxy Grass. Formed while attending college at Montana State, the group has burst onto the bluegrass scene sharing the stage with acts such as Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters and Twiddle. In recent years the band has begun to tour nationally, hitting notable venues and festivals around the country including The Brooklyn Bowl, The Fox Theatre, Delfest, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Northwest String Summit, and The Frendly Gathering. 2017 has seen the band release their second studio album, “Ghost In The Bottle” while continuing to push the boundaries of their genre.

Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs are a relentlessly energetic folk-rock band based out of Bozeman , Montana. Combining a soaring four part harmony and rock ‘n’ roll drive, a Bird Dog show gets people dancing and singing along to original tunes and covers alike.
With a combined 30 years of experience in blues, rock, country, metal, folk, and indie bands, the members of Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs found their common ground in bluegrass and country music, and bring a truly unique sound to the folk scene.
This award-winning band has been taking their infectious sound on the road since 2013, sharing stages with the likes of Keb Mo’, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Jeff Austin Band, Amy Helm, Leftover Salmon, The Infamous Stringdusters, Corb Lund, The Mavericks, Mark Chesnutt, Blitzen Trapper and many more. The Bird Dogs released a live self-titled studio album in 2016, recorded at Basecamp Studio in Bozeman. Their follow-up album, titled The Vigilante Session, was recorded live at a forest service cabin in the Ruby mountains.
Born under the big sky in Bozeman, Montana, Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs consist of Lena (Laney) Schiffer on vocals/guitar/percussion, Matt Demarais on vocals/banjo/dobro, Ethan Demarais on bass, Brian Kassay on fiddle/mandolin/harmonica, and Josh Moore on vocals/guitar.
